Hield is in the final year of his contract and extension talks have stalled, Buchanan admitted this week, though they could be rekindled.

Buchanan indicated that Daniel Theis, Isaiah Jackson and Jalen Smith will battle in training camp for the backup role, according to Dustin Dopirak of the Indianapolis Star.
