Brown’s contract at $23 million a year expires this summer, and he’s the most talked about Raptor in trade chatter. He said he tries to remain oblivious to it. “I’ve been in this situation the last two years, so if it happens, it does; if it doesn’t, I’m happy to be here,” said the 28-year-old Brown, obtained from Indiana a year ago in the Pascal Siakam trade. “It’s a business, (the talk is) going to happen. I was completely shocked last year when I got traded, so this year it’s whatever.”

Some Bruce Brown trade odds courtesy of @BodogCA. They have the Miami Heat as the most likely landing spot. I assume that would be as part of a bigger three-team Jimmy Bulter deal pic.x.com/YY5riINf0K – 10:04 AM

They are the old heads, veterans hardened by time. And when this point on the NBA calendar rolls around, Bruce Brown and Kelly Olynyk tend to check out. No rumours, no speculation, no nothing. Que será, será. It’s the only way they know how to prepare for the impending NBA trade deadline. “Now 12 years in this, I’ve been traded three times. If it happens, it happens,” Olynyk said after Raptors practice Sunday afternoon. “If not, your feet are where you are, and you’re going to do your best to contribute to winning in that organization.” -via Toronto Star / January 21, 2025
The Raptors are very motivated to move Bruce Brown and his $23 million salary, sources said, in hopes of growing the return from trading Pascal Siakam to Indiana on Jan. 17, 2024. Brown arrived in Toronto as the largest salary component from that deal, alongside three future first-round picks, to land Siakam with the Pacers. -via marcstein.substack.com / January 20, 2025
Another team, fittingly, to keep in mind for Brown on the buyout market — if it gets that far — would be Denver. The Nuggets, sources say, would love a reunion with the veteran swingman affectionately known as Brucey B. -via marcstein.substack.com / January 20, 2025
