The wider sports world is descending upon Indianapolis, Indiana ahead of Sunday’s Indianapolis 500, including one NBA star and his girlfriend.
According to Angela Moryan of WISH-TV, Indiana Pacers All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton and his girlfriend Jade Jones were at Indianapolis Motor Speedway today checking out the track. At one point, Haliburton and Jones got a chance to drive a Chevrolet Corvette on the track and they both attempted to beat each others’ times.
A video shows that Jones managed to go a whopping 155 miles per hour in the Corvette – beating Haliburton’s time in the process. His reaction to seeing her go that fast was priceless though.
“I’m not going that fast, right? I’m about to say. Ain’t no way I was going that fast! I didn’t feel that,” Haliburton said.

The Pacers All-Star guard will be driving the pace car to start the Indianapolis 500 this year.
“It’s a tremendous honor to be given the opportunity to drive the Pace Car and lead the field to start the Indy 500,” Haliburton said, via IndianapolisMotorSpeedway.com. “Basketball and racing are big in Indiana, and it’s such a cool experience to represent the Pacers at the biggest race in the world.”
So far it looks like Haliburton is having a good time.
