Though the Indiana Pacers defeated the Boston Celtics on Monday night, they lost All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton to a hamstring injury.
In the second quarter of the Celtics-Pacers game, Haliburton slipped as he was driving to the rim. He immediately grabbed the back of his left leg after landing awkwardly on the floor.
Thankfully, the latest update on Haliburton’s status is somewhat encouraging.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the MRI results for Haliburton showed a Grade 1 left hamstring strain.
“He’s expected to be re-evaluated in approximately two weeks but there’s relief that he’s avoided serious injury,” Wojnarowski said.

Haliburton has been sensational for the Pacers this season, averaging 24.2 points and a league-high 12.7 assists per game.
At 21-15, the Pacers are tied for the fourth-best record in the Eastern Conference. They’ll have to find a way to keep pace with the competition during Haliburton’s absence.
Next up for the Pacers is a showdown with the Wizards.
