Dustin Dopirak: Rick Carlisle said he has “zero concern” about Tyrese Haliburton’s shooting but said as a team they have to play a whole lot better and put more pressure on the rim.

Tyrese Haliburton, who went scoreless last game, scores on the opening possession. A finger-roll after attacking from the right wing.
That’s important for him and the team. – 3:47 PM

Rick Carlisle pregame: “We’re working through things. We want to play faster, we want to play with more aggression, more speed, urgency.
“We’ve had some challenges and we have to continue to work through them.” – 3:03 PM

Pacers starters’ struggles continue. Now 0/17 from distance. Haliburton 1/16 from 3 over the first 7 quarters.
Carlisle now going to the bench. Badly need a change in their spirit.
And like in G1, Sheppard getting 2H minutes after it was Jarace Walker in the first half. – 9:16 PM

Sorry I’ve been quiet. My Spectrum Internet has been failing me.
It was a rough 2Q for the Pacers, outscored 36-21. They’re just 2 of 13 from outside.
At half, they trail NYK 61-45.
Siakam (12), Mathurin (11) have been the bright points. Scoreless half for Haliburton/Nembhard. – 8:45 PM

More on this storyline
Obama said he enjoys watching the Pacers: “I like how the Pacers are playing. … The beautiful game, and the ball’s popping. You’re not backing up and dribbling the whole time.” But added a critique: “You’ve got to pick up that defense a little bit.” -via Indianapolis Star / October 23, 2024
Barack Obama has a problem with the NBA All-Star Game, and he told Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton about it. “You gotta have a little more pride in that All-Star Game. That All-Star Game is broke, man,” Obama told Haliburton, saying he won’t watch it anymore. Haliburton could only offer this in response: “Larry Bird came in there and gave us a speech about taking it more serious.” “And it didn’t work,” Obama responded. -via Indianapolis Star / October 23, 2024
“A lot of young people — a lot of young men — they get frustrated, and they say, ‘Well, nothing’s happened,’” Barack Obama told NBA All-Star Tyrese Haliburton, 24, and producer Tommy Alter in a clip first shared with NBC News. “But let’s say — when I was president I didn’t cure racism, I didn’t eliminate poverty. But 50 million people got health insurance. That didn’t happen before, and that saved lives and made people’s lives better.” -via NBC / October 23, 2024
Dustin Dopirak: Rick Carlisle asked about the pace the Pacers have played at so far. Said it’s not what they want so far. “We want to play with more aggression, speed urgency. We’ve had some challenges.” -via Twitter @DustinDopirak / October 27, 2024
A civil lawsuit in which Indiana Pacers coach Rick Carlisle was the defendant has been “resolved to the satisfaction of both parties” and a dismissal is forthcoming, according to attorneys on both sides. The resolution helps avoids a trial that was scheduled for April 28, 2025, which would be during the first round of the NBA playoffs. -via ESPN / October 17, 2024
“History will likely show that where he was chosen in the draft was low,” Carlisle said. “He’s gonna have impact. He was drafted by an organization that believes in size and they believe in what he accomplished. Two-time national player of the year is a big deal. It’s rare that that can even happen in today’s world of college basketball. I have great respect for what he accomplished at Purdue and a lot of respect for what he did tonight because he put a will and a physicality into the game that we simply did not match.” -via Indianapolis Star / October 16, 2024
