Jack McCaffery, a four-star in the class of 2025, has committed to Butler, he announced Monday.
The 6-foot-9, 215 pound, forward is the son of Iowa head coach Fran McCaffery, but has family ties to Butler after his brother Patrick McCaffery transferred in this offseason.
Jack chose the Bulldogs over Utah and Virginia.
“It was the coaching staff for sure,” he told ZAGSBLOG. “Coach [Maurice] Joesph and coach [Thad] Matta did a great job recruiting me and I thought it was the best overall fit for the way that I want to play. I think I’m a very versatile forward who can play inside and out and shoot the ball very well.”
McCaffery is head coach Thad Motta‘s first pickup in the class of 2025 and second commit in three weeks as four-star scoring wing Colt Langdon joined the Bulldogs and reclassified to 2024 on July 10.
Butler will also host 2025 four-star guard Christian Jeffrey on September 14 as he looks to make a decision before the high school season starts.
