The Big East and Big Ten take part in one of the annual conference challenge series, known as the “Gavitt Games” named after influential former Big East commissioner Dave Gavitt. Thanks to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, we now know the full slate of games that will take place next fall:
- Iowa vs. Seton Hall
- Ohio State vs. Providence
- DePaul vs. Rutgers
- Minnesota vs. St. John’s
- Georgetown vs. Maryland
- Butler vs. Northwestern
- Purdue vs. Villanova
- Creighton vs. Wisconsin
Iowa-Seton Hall, Ohio State-Providence, and Purdue-Villanova could be fun games, while it is always good to see a rivalry like Georgetown-Maryland renewed. The two leagues split this year’s series 4-4.
