It’s still early in the season. But the selection committee for the upcoming 2020 NCAA Tournament has released what the top 16 seeds would look like if the season ended today.
Gonzaga, San Diego State, Baylor and Kansas headline the one-seeds. It’s not too often two non-Power 5 West Coast schools earn a one-seed, but SDSU and Gonzaga are well on the way to doing so.
Baylor and Kansas – both representing the Big 12 – play each other later this month. Depending on how the rest of the season shakes out, that massive conference contest could drop the game’s loser to a two-seed.

The Big 12, ACC and Big East make up nine of the top 16 seeds. The Big 12 is represented by No. 1 Baylor, No. 1 Kansas and No. 2 West Virginia. No. 3 Seton Hall, No. 3 Villanova and No. 4 Butler are the Big East representatives.
The ACC is represented by No. 2 Louisville, No. 2 Duke and No. 3 Florida State. Based on past history, there’s a good chance either Louisville or Duke is able to jump to the one-seed by the end of the season.
It’ll be interesting to see how the rest of the season shakes out.
