The Hoosiers’ head coach was modeled as an ice sculpture in downtown Bloomington.
Each year the city of Bloomington celebrates Freezefest during the winter months. The celebration features family fun with food from local vendors, a cook-off contest and a series of ice sculptures.
Last year’s Freezefest featured sculptures of Indiana basketball’s Kel’el Ware and Sydney Parrish. This year’s featured another figure in Bloomington: head football coach Curt Cignetti.
The real Cignetti himself even stopped by to see his frozen counterpart and interact with Hoosier fans:

Cignetti’s sculpture depicts a headshot of the head coach on the sideline, headset and all.
It’s just another sign of the way the local community has rallied around the football program since his arrival. A historic 11-2 debut campaign didn’t just draw Indiana’s fanbase into Memorial Stadium in droves for the first time in years. All those fans needed places to stay, somewhere to park and spots to eat before and after all the games.
