Goode was not offered out of high school by the Hoosiers.
Luke Goode is from an Indiana family.
His father, Craig Goode, played football for the Hoosiers in the 1990’s. His uncle, Trent Greene, is one of the greatest quarterbacks in program history. Goode wore a trident on his cap as an infant during the first few months of his life. He grew up wearing the candystripes and playing basketball.
But when he got to high school and established himself as a high-major caliber recruit in the class of 2021, an offer never came.
The Hoosiers’ 2021 signing class included just one signee for then-head coach Archie Miller: Logan Duncomb, a center. What Miller needed, more than anything, was shooting on the roster.
So there’s Goode up at Homestead High School in Fort Wayne putting up numbers from beyond the arc. The kind of kid who’d come to Bloomington, all the staff would need to do is call and offer.
But that staff, under Miller, didn’t. Goode instead ended up at a Big Ten rival, Illinois, and has a few Big Ten title rings in his trophy case as a result.
Now Goode is coming home. He said it himself.

Mike Woodson has had to correct a few errors since taking over as Indiana’s head coach. Getting Indiana back to the postseason and ending losing streaks to rival programs were high on that list. Adding Goode is the latest addition.
