Indiana is one of the best stories of the 2024 college football season.
The Hoosiers are 7-0 for the first time since 1967 and ranked in the top 20. Indiana picked up its seventh win of the year in resounding fashion on Saturday, blasting Nebraska 56-7. With five games left to play, Curt Cignetti’s Hoosiers are firmly in the mix for the Big Ten title.
When you keep winning, you rack up the attention and the accomplishments. The latest one for IU is getting to host College GameDay for the first time in program history.
ESPN announced Sunday that GameDay is heading to Bloomington for Saturday’s matchup with Washington, which is set for noon ET on Big Ten Network.
“Bloomington, here we come Coach Corso returns home to see the 7-0 Hoosiers for our first-ever Saturday College GameDay at Indiana!” the College GameDay account tweeted Sunday morning.
Lee Corso, the beloved GameDay host, coached at Indiana from 1973-82, posting a 41-68-2 record. Corso’s best year came in 1979, when he led the Hoosiers to an 8-4 record, a win in the Holiday Bowl and top 20 finishes in both major polls.
The only negative big of news right now for Indiana is the fact star quarterback Kurtis Rourke could miss some time. Rourke injured his thumb in Saturday’s win and is not expected to play vs. Washington.
“He will return this season, but the timetable isn’t clear yet,” ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported on Rourke this morning.
Tayven Jackson is expected to replace Rourke. Against the Cornhuskers, Jackson threw for 91 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for 21 yards on two carries.
