The basketball world got scared when former Indiana head coach Bob Knight was admitted to the hospital over the weekend.
Knight, who’s one of the best coaches in college basketball history, was hospitalized due to an illness and according to his son Pat, is back home now.
“On behalf of the Knight Family, we thank you for your thoughts and prayers. As many have heard, my dad was hospitalized over the weekend with an illness and has since been released from the hospital. We ask for your privacy as he is cared for and resting at home in good hands. Coach always taught us, and those that played for him, the importance of fighting through adversity and he and our family thank you for the tremendous amount of support you have shown and given during this time. We appreciate your continued thoughts and prayers,” Pat wrote.

It’s relieving to hear that Knight is okay since he’s 82 years old now.
Knight coached Army from 1965-71 before coaching Indiana from 1971-2000. He also coached Texas Tech from 2001-08 before announcing his retirement.
He won 902 games during his time as a coach, which is sixth all-time among Division I coaches.
