Indiana adds onto a formidable defensive line.
Indiana has made its defensive line an emphasis of the program. Curt Cignetti hired two separate coaches for the group last offseason, and the two produced one of the best lines the Hoosiers have seen in years.
That emphasis will carry into the future after the Hoosiers landed former Texas State defensive tackle Dominique Ratcliff out of the transfer portal:

Ratcliff’s production at that spot speaks for itself. He compiled 22 tackles and 2 sacks in 2024 on the Bobcats’ defensive line. He’ll have one season of eligibility remaining. He’s a strong run defender and attracted plenty of power five interest in the portal before signing with the Hoosiers.
As a defensive tackle, he’ll be working the most with Pat Kuntz, who helped mentor CJ West and James Carpenter into being some of the more impactful linemen in the Big Ten this past season. The Hoosiers will have to replace both in 2025.
