The Hoosiers add onto their tight end room.
Indiana football added some needed talent to its tight ends room on Wednesday with the addition of Riley Nowakowski, formerly of Wisconsin.

Tight ends are always going to have a role in Curt Cignetti’s offense, Zach Horton proved that to be true this season. Horton was a bit of a swiss army knife whose efforts were underappreciated outside of Bloomington and Nowakowski isn’t all that dissimilar.
The receiving numbers don’t jump off the screen, 11 receptions for 74 yards total. But Indiana hasn’t asked its tight ends to do too much thus far in that area, instead relying on the position for blocking.
In that department, Nowakowski is more than good enough. He’s among the better blocking tight ends in the nation, and Indiana will need that as they look to build the backfield back up with the incoming departures of Justice Ellison and Ty Son Lawton.
No tight ends spent more time on the field for the Badgers than Nowakowski. That’s how important he was. Now he’ll bring that to Bloomington.
