Wheeler, a 2024 All-Conference USA first-team selection, recorded 74 tackles and two sacks for the Hilltoppers this past season.
The 6-3, 300-pound Elkton, Calif., native comes to Bloomington with one year of eligibility remaining. Wheeler chose Indiana after visiting multiple schools including Texas A&M and Wisconsin.
Wheeler’s size and skillset allow him to play any position on the defensive line. It will be fun to see what defensive coordinator Bryant Haines and position coach Pat Kuntz have in mind for the former Hilltopper.
