Everything you need to know about round one with the Hawkeyes.
#14 Indiana women’s basketball and #3 Iowa, the reigning Big Ten and Big Ten Tournament champions, are set to play for the first time this season tonight. The winner gains sole possession of first place in the league standings and adds a fantastic victory to its March resume.
Indiana and Iowa split last year’s series with each team winning at home. Both games were hotly contested and Iowa needed a Caitlin Clark buzzer-beater three to pull of its victory.
There were rumblings of this one getting postponed due to winter weather earlier in the week but it looks the game’s (still) on, dude. Indiana’s plane is in the air!
Here’s everything you need to know about the game:

Game Notes
#14 Indiana (14-1, 5-0 Big Ten) made key adjustments down the stretch to get past Penn State Wednesday in Assembly Hall.
Mackenzie Holmes recorded a 21-point, 13-rebound double-double while Sydney Parrish scored 20+ points for a third straight game to give the Hoosiers a 75-67 win.
We had a bit of a scare when Chloe Moore-McNeil briefly exited the game with an ankle injury but the senior guard was able to return after some time with the trainers. CMM is expected to be 100% against Iowa.
You can read more about the Hoosiers’ 13th-straight victory here.
#3 Iowa (16-1, 5-0 Big Ten) looks primed for another Final Four appearance after falling to LSU in the National Championship last year.
Caitlin Clark, the reigning National Player of the Year, leads the country in scoring with 31 points per game and adds to her and-1 mixtape nightly. She also leads the nation in assists with 7.7 per contest.
Surrounding Clark is an assemblage of veteran guards in Gabbie Marshall, Kate Martin, and Molly Davis.
Sophomore post Hannah Stuelke owns the low block for the Hawkeyes after taking over for former All-Big Ten forward Monika Czinano. Stuelke was named Big Ten Sixth Player of the Year a season ago and averages 13.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in her first year as a starter.
Indiana-Iowa is the hottest rivalry in women’s hoops right now. Very glad they’re going to get this one played safely.
