The Hoosier state just keeps producing top talent in college basketball.
Indiana’s high school class of 2025 has attracted attention for years.
Some players, like Jalen Haralson and Trent Sisley, have attracted broad attention from high-major college programs for years. Another, Braylon Mullins, rocketed up to 5-star status as his recruitment went national.
Those were something of a big three thanks to their overall attention from in-state programs Indiana, Purdue and Notre Dame in particular, but others like Tre Singleton, Azavier Robinson, Brady Koehler and Dezmon Briscoe shouldn’t fly under the radar.
It looks like there’s another star-studded class on the way just two years down the line from now in 2027. As of this writing, Indiana features three prospects in the 247Sports top-100 nationally with two being top 25.
Here’s what to know about the class:
Jaylan Mitchell, 5-star PF – Evansville
- Notable Offers: Illinois, Maryland, Notre Dame
Mitchell stars for Francis Joseph Reitz High School in Evansville and has already attracted plenty of high-major interest. The 247Sports composite currently has him as the fourth highest-rated prospect nationally and the second highest rated power forward.
He has a versatile skillset as a scorer, rebounder and distributor and he tends to fill up the stat sheet in each of those categories. As a passer, he’s willing and reliable in the halfcourt and in transition.
Offensively, he’s capable of attacking the rim and, while there’s room to grow as a shooter, can hit from long range.
His best overall attribute, while abstract, might be his contribution to winning basketball. He’s not on the court seeking to get his, he’s trying to win the game. If that means owning the boards and finding the open man, that’s what he’s going to do.

Jason Gardner Jr., 4-star PG – Fishers
- Notable Offers: Indiana, Purdue, Notre Dame, DePaul
Gardner Jr, son of Arizona legend and Indiana Mr. Basketball Jason Gardner Sr., is bound to see his recruitment blow up in the next few years. For now, he’s firmly on the radar of just about every major in-state program.
Gardner has his sights set on the NBA down the line and is interested in programs with a proven track record of sending backcourt talent to the next level like UNC or Kentucky, he told Pro Insight last May.
There isn’t a lot Gardner can’t do with the ball in his hands, he’s able to get to his spots well and is a reliable scorer when he needs to be aggressive and distributes well to teammates. Defense is a must at Fishers High School, so Gardner has that side of the court covered.
He’s one to watch nationally as recruiting for the 2027 cycle heats up.
Isaiah Hill, 3-star C – Indianapolis
- Notable Offers: None reported yet
Hill, a 6’11” center for Pike High School in Indianapolis, is also one to watch develop as the years go on.
His overall length serves him well on the defensive end of the floor as a rim protector and he has enough athleticism to get up and down the floor, especially as a rim runner in transition offensively.
Hill can get into scoring position off of cuts and his ability to play above the rim makes him a dangerous matchup in the pick and roll. Look for his recruitment to pick up in the coming months.
