The No. 2 quarterback in the country has a special connection with quarterbacks coach Tino Sunseri.
Julian Lewis, one of the top overall prospects in the class of 2025, is set for an official visit to Indiana on May 31, per multiple reports.
Different outlets have Lewis rated in varying ways. He’s the No. 2 quarterback in the class per 247Sports while ESPN has him rated as the best player in the class as a whole. He’s one of the highest profile recruits to visit the Hoosiers in program history.
Lewis is currently committed to future Big Ten foe USC, having verbally pledged to play for the Trojans last August. But he’s still taking visits, and Indiana’s on that list.
No coach in the country as known Lewis longer than Tino Sunseri, the Hoosiers’ current quarterbacks coach who followed Curt Cignetti over from JMU.
Carrollton (Ga.) High five-star QB Julian Lewis will take an official visit to Indiana the weekend of May 31 and there isn’t a coach in the country he’s known longer than Hoosiers QB coach Tino Sunseri. More on that and the interest in IU here: https://t.co/jjlW1Kxo2U pic.twitter.com/voaQclRt22

Indiana remains a longshot in Lewis’ ongoing recruitment in spite of that preexisting relationship. But appearances matter and getting a player of that caliber on campus for an official visit is no small feat.
