The Hoosiers picked up an in-state commitment.
Indiana football picked up a new commitment in the class of 2025 when in-state edge rusher Tyrone Burrus Jr. announced he was flipping from Louisville to the Hoosiers on Thursday morning.
BREAKING: Indianapolis Warren Central edge rusher Tyrone Burrus Jr. flips his commitment to Indiana and talks about his decision.
“It’s special,” Burrus said. “I’ve been messing with IU for a while now and I’m glad I could make it home. It was Coach Buddha and Pat they both give… pic.twitter.com/ipFCUsuX7G

Out of Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, Burrus has been on Indiana’s radar for a while. The same can be said for the staff at Louisville, much of which originated from Jeff Brohm’s time at Purdue with plenty of connections in the state as a result.
Well, 10-0 later, and Burrus decided to make the switch and be a bit closer to home. He mentions above he’s been speaking with Indiana’s defensive line coaches, Pat Kuntz and Buddha WIlliams, for a while.
And yes, coaches. Plural. Curt Cignetti put a high priority on line play this past offseason, which means the defensive line has two separate coaches for tackles and edge rushers. Kuntz is also local, having played at Roncalli before following Cignetti from his staff at James Madison. Williams was a highly regarded coach at Colorado State before making the move to Bloomington.
Burrus’ commitment signals further that Indiana is doing everything it can to capitalize on its current program momentum.
