Coogan started for the Fighting Irish throughout the College Football Playoff.

While not a regular starter for the Fighting Irish, Coogan led the offensive line throughout Notre Dame’s run to the national championship in the College Football Playoff including the first round against Indiana.
Coogan drew plenty of attention online during the playoff for his firey pregame speeches to the Irish:

The Hoosiers entered this offseason with a need to replace Mike Katic, whose overall experience with occasional snaps at the position made him a natural choice to fill in full-time for the 2024 season.
Coogan gives the program another experienced hand at that spot who has won at the highest levels of college football while starting in 13 games this past season. He played a key role in one of the nation’s best rushing offenses and brings that drive and leadership to the Hoosiers.
