The wideout has two receptions for 21 yards and a touchdown on the season.
Indiana football senior wide receiver Donaven McCulley will enter the transfer portal, per a source.
McCulley started his career at Indiana in 2021 as a quarterback, where injuries to others would force him into a starting role as a true freshman. He made the move to wide receiver ahead of the 2022 season and broke out in 2023.
He caught 48 passes for 644 yards and 6 touchdowns in 2023, proving himself to be among the better wide receivers in the Big Ten. He entered the transfer portal following the firing of Tom Allen and had a variety of suiters before ultimately choosing to stay in Bloomington as Curt Cignetti began building his first roster.
Once seen as a huge retainment by the staff, McCulley has been limited this season, catching just two passes for 21 yards and a touchdown in a wide receivers room that has become crowded. He has dealt with injury as well, taking a hit against FIU and ultimately being ruled out against Western Illinois. He has played limited snaps since.
McCulley starred at quarterback for Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis prior to his time with the Hoosiers.
