The Hoosiers had issues with crowd noise against Ohio State.
Through its 11-1 regular season, Ohio State presented the most raucous crowd for Indiana football to have to deal with.
Perhaps not a coincidence, the Buckeyes also handed the Hoosiers their sole loss on the season. The crowd at Ohio Stadium was a factor, multiple members of the program have said as much, with Indiana having to move to a silent count during the game.
That’s something Kurtis Rourke and the rest of the offense will look to prepare for ahead of Indiana’s trip up to South Bend for a matchup with Notre Dame in the opening round of the College Football Playoff.
Rourke was asked directly about relying on the silent count following Sunday’s selection announcement.
“Yeah, if it comes down to that, we’re going to be prepared, more prepared than we were,” Rourke said. “We’ve been repping it ever since that game even though we might not know if we have to use it or not. It’s going to be an afterthought for us if we have to go to it just because we repped it so many times, and it’s going to be — yeah, I don’t see it being an issue.”
