Norton follows Darian DeVries from West Virginia and Drake.
Indiana men’s basketball announced the addition of Nick Norton as an assistant coach via an official release on Thursday.
“We are excited to have Nick join our staff,” head coach Darian DeVries said in the release. “He brings tremendous knowledge and feel for what we want our program to be about. He is terrific with the players on the floor and brings incredible energy every day to the practice floor.”
Norton worked under DeVries at West Virginia as an assistant coach and director of player development for the Mountaineers. West Virginia guard Javon Small was named First Team All-Big 12 after averaging 18.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game during Norton’s lone season in Morgantown.
Prior to his time with West Virginia, Norton worked multiple roles under DeVries at Drake including assistant director of operations, director of operations and the same assistant coach and director of player development role he’d hold in Morgantown. He played under DeVries during the latter’s first season with the Bulldogs, returning to work in the aforementioned staff roles after a brief professional career.
