The Hoosiers have been in contact with Hatton, who is originally from Georgetown, Indiana, for a while since he entered the portal on April 29. He’s received interest from other high-majors during the process, including Ohio State.
Indiana getting the first visit matters here. They’ve usually kept the players they’ve gotten on campus first with Ballo, Rice and Carlyle all committing shortly after or during their visits.
Hatton would be a valuable depth piece for the Hoosiers’ frontcourt, which lost Kel’el Ware, Anthony Walker and Payton Sparks this offseason. He’d be a bench option for Ballo with an ability to hit shots from outside off the catch.
Travis Branham of 247Sports logged a crystal ball for Indiana to land Hatton on May 5.
