Goode is originally from Fort Wayne, but was not recruited by Archie Miller and his staff out of high school. He has significant family ties to Indiana, including his uncle, Trent Green, who played quarterback for the Hoosiers from 1988-92.
Last season was Goode’s most productive at Illinois, with him appearing in all 38 games and averaging 5.7 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. Indiana fans will be happy to hear he’s a 38.9% shooter from deep on 4.1 attempts per game.
Goode saw time at the three and four spots for Illinois, making him an intriguing bench option for both Malik Reneau and Mackenzie Mgbako. Playing him next to Mgbako would allow Indiana to stretch the floor in a way it hasn’t been able to in years.
Whatever his role ends up being, this is a solid pickup for an Indiana team that lacked an experienced shooter and front court depth.
