Indiana men’s basketball will miss out on NCAA Tournament play for the second straight season.
The Hoosiers were left out of this year’s March Madness bracket following the conclusion of the reveal show on CBS. Other programs like North Carolina, Texas and Xavier were ultimately chosen over them.
Barring an alternative postseason tournament, Indiana will finish at 19-13 and 10-10 in the Big Ten with an opening round loss to Oregon at the Big Ten Tournament in Indianapolis.
Given the expectations heading into the season the season built off of the talent retained from last year’s roster and the pieces acquired during the offseason, it’s hard to call this year anything other than a massive disappointment.
Mike Woodson’s Indiana tenure will end with him having gone to two NCAA Tournaments in his first two seasons and missing it in the latter two. The program’s focus now turns to its search for the next head coach.
