The 7-footer would look great in candystripes.
Malachi Moreno, a 7-foot center in the class of 2025, announced today that Indiana is one of eight schools still in contention for his commitment, as reported by Joe Tipton for On3.

Moreno is On3’s No. 1 center and the top overall recruit in the state of Kentucky according to both On3 and 247.
In addition to IU, the Great Crossing (KY) product is considering Big Ten foes Iowa and Ohio State in addition to Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina, and Notre Dame.
Mike Woodson’s pitch to post players is pretty simple: look at the guys we had play the five over the last two seasons. First, there was homegrown legend Trayce Jackson-Davis. TJD was a consensus first-team All-American in 2022-23 and appeared in nearly every game for the Golden State Warriors in his rookie season.
After TJD came Oregon transfer Kel’el Ware, another 7-footer who nearly averaged a double-double (15.9 ppg, 9.9 rpg) per game in 2023-24 and will learn his NBA fate during the draft later this week.
Moreno took an unofficial visit to Bloomington last fall and would be the school’s first 2025 commit should he decide on IU.
