The Hoosiers are reportedly set to face the Jayhawks in Allegiant Stadium in three years.
Some big future nonconference scheduling news for Indiana men’s basketball dropped on Sunday afternoon, courtesy of Jon Rothstein.
Indiana will take on Kansas in a doubleheader event at Allegiant Stadium on November 12, 2027 in Las Vegas, Nevada, with Arizona and Duke taking up the other slot. The event will serve as a precursor to the 2028 men’s Final Four to be held in the same venue.
“We are excited to play in such a prestigious event,” Indiana head coach Mike Woodson said in a release. “I look forward to testing our ballclub that early in the season against a high-level opponent like Kansas. Our staff has always prioritized playing the best competition out there and getting this opportunity in Allegiant Stadium should be a lot of fun for both the program and the fan base.”
The Hoosiers are familiar with Vegas, with many fans having made the trip for a game against Arizona in 2022. They’re also familiar with the Jayhawks, who took both games of a home-and-home series at Allen Fieldhouse and Assembly Hall the past two seasons.
Obviously it’s a big matchup for Indiana, but consider the additional weight with the program heading south to Lexington for a matchup with a historic rival in Kentucky the next month. Getting either of those games on the schedule is a huge boost for the nonconference, and Indiana has both.
