It’s been a busy transfer portal season for Indiana basketball.
Darian DeVries, the new head coach of the men’s program, has to build his first roster almost entirely from the transfer portal. The lone carryover is incoming freshman Trent Sisley, who committed and signed with the Hoosiers under Mike Woodson.
Indiana has since landed commitments from DePaul guard Conor Enright, Davidson forward Reed Bailey, West Virginia wing Tucker DeVries and Sam Houston State guard Lamar Wilkerson.
There’s plenty more work to be done, but it’s a pretty solid start to portal season.
Teri Moren, head coach of the women’s program, has had a similar situation on her hands. The bulk of Indiana’s major contributors last season have either run out of eligibility or made a stunning decision to enter the portal in the case of Yarden Garzon. The rest of Indiana’s roster, which came off the bench last season, has also entered the portal.
Only Lenee Beaumont and Shay Ciezki remain from last year’s roster. Since then, Moren has added UCLA forward Zania Socka-Nguemen, Arkansas guard Phoenix Stotijn and Alabama guard Chloe Spreen. There’s moves to be made, but Moren is making moves for the future with all of her additions up to this point having multiple years of eligibility.
