Multiple former players are on Moren’s coaching staff for the coming season.
Teri Moren crossed the decade mark in Bloomington following the conclusion of the 2023-24 season. In that time, her players have gone on to be selected in the WNBA Draft, earn All-American odds and take the program to new heights in the postseason.
A few have joined the coaching ranks, with the 2024-25 coaching staff including two of Moren’s former players: Ali Patberg and Keyanna Warthen.
Patberg is entering her third season on staff while Warthen joined this offseason. Originally brought as the program’s team and recruiting coordinator in 2022, Patberg added an assistant coach title in 2023 before taking on a full-time assistant coach role following the departure of Amber Smith this offseason.
One big change for Patberg is that, as a full-time assistant, she’ll be able to recruit off-campus.
Warthen had a few stops on the way to Indiana, starting with a marketing internship with the WNBA’s Dallas Wings. From there, she earned a spot as a graduate assistant on the staff at Oklahoma State before joining former Indiana associate head coach Glenn Box at Miami, OH as an assistant coach.
She returns to Bloomington as Indiana’s new team and recruiting coordinator and assistant coach, filling in the role Patberg held last season.
It’s not just former players either. Former Marshall standout Shayna Gore spent two seasons with the program as a graduate assistant before moving onto an assistant coach role at Western Carolina, where she spent one year before recently joining the staff at Youngstown State.
Cam Holmes, brother of Mackenzie, was a practice player and team manager for multiple seasons in Bloomington before earning a graduate assistant spot at Illinois State, where he spent the past two seasons. He was recently hired as director of operations for St. Thomas women’s basketball.
