The Hoosiers’ leading scorer is in the transfer portal with a “do not contact” tag.
Indiana women’s basketball’s leading scorer Yarden Garzon has entered the transfer portal according to reporting from Talia Goodman of On3, Zach Osterman of the Indianapolis Star and Skim Milkey, the women’s college basketball equivalent of Trilly Donovan.
Garzon, entering her senior season, averaged 14.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 33.5 minutes per game while shooting 40.7% from deep.
It’s hard to really parse how massive this is for the program, which could lose its key building block and a longtime program player heading into next season. Garzon was set for an even more featured role in the offense with the graduation of starting point guard Chloe Moore-McNeil. It was easy to see her having the ball in her hands even more often.
She’s entered the transfer portal nonetheless, albeit with a “do-not-contact” tag. There’s always the possibility that she returns to the program, but you’d probably rather she stay out of the portal in the first place.
