Another COY award for Cig.
Indiana football head coach Curt Cignetti was named Associated Press Coach of the Year earlier today.
Cignetti received 30 of 45 votes from AP Top 25 voters after leading Indiana to an 11-1 record and the program’s first College Football Playoff appearance in his first season in Bloomington.
Cignetti is the first coach in IU history to receive AP COY honors. He was also voted 2024 Big Ten Coach of the Year by the league’s coaches and media in addition to being named national Coach of the Year by the AFCA, Home Depot, and the Walter Camp Foundation.
Cignetti’s Hoosiers face in-state foe Notre Dame in the CFP opening round Friday in South Bend.
