The Cornhuskers’ head coach had high praise for the Hoosiers.
Indiana football is near the top of the Big Ten in passing and rushing. It ranks in the top ten in total offense and total defense. The Hoosiers haven’t spent a single second of any game trailing their opponents.
All of this is readily apparent to Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule, who sees No. 16 Indiana as a top-10 team in the country, he said during his weekly media availability ahead of the two’s matchup on Saturday.
“They started the season unranked so they’re maybe not getting the dues that they’re supposed to get,” Rhule said. “Other people can lose to a bad team and they’ll keep them in the top 10 because they started in the top 10. Coach Cignetti has done an amazing job.”
As for Nebraska, the storied football program likely has its best team in years and should get to the postseason for the first time since 2016. The Huskers are led by freshman phenom quarterback Dylan Raiola, who’s among the better signal callers the Hoosiers will see on the season. They combine that sheer potential and ability in the passing game with a stout defensive unit.
With Big Noon Kickoff in town, national eyes will be on this one with each program looking to prove itself.
