Former Indiana guard Jalen Hood-Schifino was dealt from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Utah Jazz on Saturday night as part of a blockbuster trade that sent Luka Doncic to Los Angeles and Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks, per reporting from ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Hood-Schifino was drafted by the Lakers with the 17th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft after starring at Indiana in college and Montverde Academy in high school. He spent time with Los Angeles and the South Bay Lakers, the organization’s G-League affiliate.
Hood-Schifino was a member of the Lakers’ 2023 NBA Cup championship team and won Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2023 after a stellar freshman season with Indiana that saw him take over as the Hoosiers’ starting point guard.
He averaged 13.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists during his one-and-done season in Bloomington and holds some of the best freshman scoring performances in program history including 33 points against Northwestern and 25 points against Purdue.
