It sounds like the Indiana Hoosiers are targeting a member of Ohio State’s coaching staff to fill their vacant HC spot.
According to Bruce Feldman of The Athletic, Buckeyes offensive line coach Justin Frye is among the top candidates to replace the fired Tom Allen. Along with South Alabama’s Kane Wommack, Alabama offensive coordinator Tommy Rees and even former Bucs/Raiders head coach Jon Gruden.
Among the Indiana coaching candidates to replace Tom Allen: South Alabama’s Kane Wommack, Bama OC Tommy Rees, Ohio State OL coach Justin Frye, and a big wildcard candidate who has support with some key IU folks: Jon Gruden. https://t.co/1OJ7X2ODLRhttps://t.co/1OJ7X2ODLR

Frye is in his second season coaching up the trenches at Ohio State and also holds the title of associate head coach. The 40-year-old IU alum has worked with a ton of NFL talent at his position group during his time in Columbus (i.e. Dawand Jones, Paris Johnson Jr. and Luke Wypler).
Frye started his coaching career with the Hoosiers back in 2007 as a graduate assistant before stints at big time programs such as Florida, Temple, Boston College and UCLA.
Indiana decided to let go of Allen after going 9-27 over the last three seasons. Whoever ends up taking over for him certainly has their work cut out.
