HUGE win on NSD
Notre Dame got some really good news on National Signing Day — which is a little bit of a shocker. During Marcus Freeman’s NSD press conference, the head coach of the Fighting Irish announced that 4-Star linebacker Madden Faraimo committed and signed with Notre Dame about 15 minutes before the presser.
BREAKING: Four-Star LB Madden Faraimo has Committed to Notre Dame, he tells me for @on3recruits

The 6’3” 230 pounder from JSera Catholic in San Juan Capistrano, California, chose the Irish over the USC Trojans, Washington Huskies, Texas Longhorns, Ohio State Buckeyes, and many many others. Faraimo is a top 100 prospect and considered to be the #3 linebacker in the nation.
Played much of the year with a giant club on his left arm but still played very affectively. Played safety as a freshman and sophomore before growing in to a linebacker as a junior and that’s where he’ll play in college as well. Big 6-3, 215 pound frame and shows the ability to play sideline to sideline at inside ‘backer or line up as an edge rusher in passing situations. Brings a lot of positional versatility to the table and could play any of the ‘backer positions or grow in to a full time edge rusher in college. Plays with plenty of quick twitch, moves well laterally and shows good instincts. Is comfortable dropping in coverage and has flashed solid cover skills in various 7v7 settings. With his frame, toughness and athleticism, his upside is very high and he has the ability to be an impact player from day one in college.
Madden is the 25th commitment of this 2025 class. While the Irish were the perceived leaders in the late summer and early fall, the USC Trojans really made this tough all the way to the end. The Washington Huskies also made a late surge to really make this tough, but in the end, Faraimo said he “chose God,” when he talked to Freeman.
Notre Dame’s recruiting classes should never be a single year vision. It should be how THIS class compliments the LAST class. I’ll get more into that in the near future (as will plenty of others) but you can judge a little bit of it yourself with the scholarship chart below.
It’s a nice (and rare) National Signing Day win for Notre Dame.
