Are there NOT any Bibles at Notre Dame for football players to read?

Please forgive the lack of Notre Dame football content at OFD over the past week. It’s been a rough couple of weeks with many visits to the hospital and doctor’s office, but I crawled to the computer in my office because we have a few things to talk about — and that’s how the triple-option is released.

POWER OF THE HAIR

Are there not any Bibles available on the campus of Notre Dame? Because if there is a Bible or two floating around, I would think that someone would have ran wildly to Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa with one and opened it up to the Book of Judges to share the story of Samson.

One does not simply cut off the beautiful head of hair that the Lord has bestowed upon them without some type of severe consequence.

Hopefully, this rebellion does not swallow up Junior Tuihalamaka.

*People can do whatever they want with their hair. I am a jealous man who barely has any hair — thus, my outrage. KVA is a beast.

IS THE MESSIAH COMING?

Notre Dame has (unofficially) a new running backs coach in Ja’Juan Seider, who was hired away from the Penn State Nittany Lions. It would seem only natural for the Irish to flip 4-Star running back Messiah Mickens to complete the story. Prophecy.

WHAT WOULD YOU FIGHT FOR?

I love these moments from Notre Dame athletes, and I wish they would become just a little more viral. As Notre Dame continues to excel athletically, they also continue to give back to the community around them. Also… Steve Angeli leads the way.

ODDLY, A BIG DEAL

The Philadelphia Eagles are the Super Bowl winners (shoutout to Ian Book for getting that ring) and magically, today, a game Notre Dame played on the Eagles’ home field showed up on the timeline — a close win over the Temple Owls in 2015 with ESPN’s College Gameday on hand.

Still, the most memorable thing about this game is something I will never forget. We had just gotten home that day from the hospital with our youngest child, who was born, Mama just fed him and laid down for some sleep, and to watch the game in its entirety, I held Dylan and stood (and bounced) in front of the TV in my bedroom.

Just an anecdote for stories to be written about Hicksville High School’s incredible State Championship runs in 2031, 2032, and 2033. Go Aces.
