Another Power Five quarterback is hitting the NCAA transfer portal and it’s someone that Notre Dame fans remember well.
According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Arizona State quarterback Drew Pyne is set to enter the transfer portal. He is expected to have three seasons of eligibility remaining and will be eligible to play next season after earning his degree.
Pyne started his college career at Notre Dame but took back-to-back redshirt seasons in 2020 and 2021, appearing in six games in total. He finally got his chance to be the team’s starter in 2022 and went on to throw for 2,021 yards and 22 touchdowns while completing 64.6-percent of his passes.
But Pyne decided to transfer after his one season at Notre Dame and joined Arizona State. Things didn’t improve for him though.

Drew Pyne was limited to just two games in 2023 due to injuries and threw less than 50 passes for the Sun Devils.
In an impending offseason that’s going to see plenty of quarterbacks moving around the country, Pyne could be an appealing option for any Power Five school that finds itself in need of a quarterback.
Where will Pyne play in 2024? Will he be the starter?
