So that happened
There is another big coaching staff change coming for the Notre Dame Football team. Running backs coach Deland McCullough is leaving South Bend to go back to the NFL. Pete Carroll and the Las Vegas Raiders have made McCullough their new running backs coach.

McCullough has been instrumental during the first three years of the Marcus Freeman era in fortifying the Notre Dame rushing attack, and has developed two of the better running backs in recent Irish history in Audric Estime and Jeremiyah Love.
One of the great things about McCullough is something that doesn’t exactly show up on the stats sheet — except it does. Deland has an excellent job using a rotation of running backs and keeping a fairly well-stocked backfield happy with various roles and playing time.
While the running back coaches position is one that has many strong candidates across the country, it’s going to be hard to find someone that brings as much as Del did for the Irish.
McCullough will join Pete Carroll’s new staff in Vegas, which includes former Ohio State offensive coordinator Chip Kelly.
