A few moves after the bye
Notre Dame is ready to get back to work after a bye week, and they have a lot of work to do. The Irish have four games left on their schedule to impress the College Football Playoff committee, and it starts with the Florida State Seminoles — a team that was universally selected in the preseason as the opponent that would be the toughest to beat on the Irish schedule. With a 1-7 record this season — that is definitely not the case.
Notre Dame released the early depth charts for Saturday:
OFFENSE
Billy Schrauth started two weeks ago and he’s back on the depth chart this week. Other than that tweak — it’s pretty much more of the same (which is a good thing).
DEFENSE
Injuries have had a major effect on the defensive depth chart for the Irish over the course of the season. This week sees another change due to injury — but because of a comeback. Freshman Tae Johnson is listed as the backup to Leonard Moore at cornerback. Johnson has been out all season, but Freeman sounded confident that he can do the job if needed.
SPECIAL TEAMS
No movement on the chart, but Mitch Jeter probably won’t be available again.
