The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have been a really good football team all season long — well — almost all season long. It’s been good enough for a 7-1 record and a top 10 ranking before the first set College Football Playoff rankings are released.

In short… the Irish just need to win their final four games of the season and they will be in the playoff — and likely seeded to play their first playoff game inside the friendly confines of Notre Dame Stadium.

First up for the four game stretch is Florida State. The Noles have been absolutely dreadful this year with a 1-8 record. FSU ranks 133rd in the country in points per game with 14.7 and will now have to face an Irish defense that is ranked 4th in the country in scoring defense by only allowing 12.1 points per game.

This could be brutal, and if it’s not — the consequences could be brutal.
