COLLEGE FOOTBALL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME — Notre Dame Fighting Irish VS Ohio State Buckeyes

It’s all coming down to these last moments for this Notre Dame Football team. On Monday, the Irish will face off against the Ohio State Buckeyes in the National Championship game.

So much of what can be said about the Fighting Irish this season has already been said — and yet — it’s also being completely ignored by the punditry of college football. Even before the semifinals were played, a lot of people suggested that Texas vs Ohio State was the actual national championship — as if the Irish wouldn’t have stomped a god damn mudhole into Sark’s beef.

Anyways…

It’s already been a rough week full of dumb takes. Maybe NONE dumber than Ohio State fans trying to hold onto this “Ohio against the world” thing as if they weren’t 9 point favorites and pretty much everyone’s pick to win the game. Why did they feel disrespected? Because media members and fans have the audacity to point out that Notre Dame has several handfuls of starters out for this game. OSU fans are saying that people are already trying to discredit this game.

S-O-F-T.

I won’t play the fool and say this OSU team is soft (although Jack Sawyer’s temper tantrum was pretty funny after he went 0-4 against the Michigan Wolverines). Ryan Day is SOFT — like 10 ply, bud. He’s a little man with thin skin and no self-awareness, and deserves the James Franklin treatment.

Still… this is the biggest game of the year on every level imaginable, and if the Irish are going to win, it’s going to take that classic complimentary team football lead by Marcus Freeman.
