It didn’t work out
On Tuesday, former Notre Dame defensive lineman Tyson Ford announced on his social media that he will enter the transfer portal.
“To my teammates, coaches and everyone who has supported me up until this point. I want to express my gratitude for welcoming me and all of my family into this great program.
As a child, I never imagined God would bless me in this way. My journey is far from over. I will be entering the transfer portal after graduating in May, and I will enter with 3 years of eligibility remaining.
Thank you, God, for the opportunity of a lifetime and even more in the future.”
“The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” – Psalm 27:1

Ford is a former 4-Star from Missouri and was a top 200 overall player in the 2022 recruiting class. While at Notre Dame, Ford never climbed into the real depth chart and was plagued by injuries and other health issues. Over the summer, Notre Dame announced that Ford was going on a medical scholarship moving forward.
Good luck to Tyson in the future — wherever that may be.
