Senior Day Shenanigans
How’d We Do Last Week?
As a refresher, I feature the most interesting, most wildly inaccurate, and most accurate takes for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish from the previous week. Let’s get started!
Most Interesting
My buddy Farsdahl with some great dad related takes….He was a wildly accurate and close final score. Well Done!
Most Wildly Inaccurate
Honestly the only inaccurate take was me saying that Faison would have a big game. All others detailed a blow out, so kudos to you all on a great week!
Most Accurate
(fractures back while patting myself aggressively). This one was dead on….8 sacks for the Fighting Irish defense highlighted by calling out a big game from Rylie Mills.
And now onto the take for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Virginia Cavaliers
Cold Take
Mitchell Evans Touchdown
Evans is surging….He made a circus catch that juuuuust barely grazed the ground and is finally looking like a 90% version of his 2023 self. Last week, the coaches focused last week on getting Greathouse the ball, this week it’s Evans. Look for a beautiful play action delay down the middle of the field for a touchdown like we saw Angeli throw to Flanagan against Purdue….
TOUCHDOWN ☘️
1ère passe, 1er TD pour notre QB2 Steve Angeli. Cooper Flanagan à la réception. 49-0.

Hot Take
3 Ints by Al Golden’s Defense
Virginia QB Anthony Colandrea is a wild card and every week is an experience watching him. He plays hard and while he can be very dangerous, he can also be erratic. The kid just wants to make plays, which can lead to some dangerous throws late over the middle. This secondary is too good to not take advantage of it. I see picks coming for Xavier Watts, Adon Shuler, and another for Jordan Clark. The Irish defense makes another statement in this one.
Bonus Take
Chris Tyree makes a play and you feel weird about it
Tyree is a guy all of us rooted for and wished him the best as he took his 5th year close to home at Virginia. He has had a very modest year, but I expect him to make a pretty big play at some point. Any time I have tuned into Virginia this year I find myself rooting for a Tyree play…..so when he makes one in this game my instincts will be, “nice!” and then suddenly snap back to reality of, “WTF!”
We will always have Wisconsin TD and the, “TYREEEEE….WHOA” call from Gus Johnson. One of the more iconic ND football calls in recent memory.
