Some high-level data from the men and women teams’ season opening month.
November games are wrapped up for Notre Dame basketball and both the men’s and women’s programs are off to mixed starts.
Summary – Men
The men played eight games during the 2025 season’s opening month and are sitting at 4-4. They played four of those games at home, one away and three at a neutral site. The Irish walked away with wins in three of the four home matchups, won their only “away” game so far but dropped all three of their Players Era Festival games out in Vegas.
Scoring – Men
The average point differential for the men in November play was +6.6. Notre Dame got their most decisive victory in a +29 point rout of Stonehill but hit a differential floor of -11 in their matchup with Houston.

The Irish hit a field goal efficiency high of 59.3% in the Georgetown win but have been trending downwards since. The team only made 38.8% of field goal attempts against Houston but bounced back slightly with 43.1% accuracy in the Creighton game.
November was pretty hot and cold when it came to 3PT shooting efficiency, but ND was consistently shooting between 77-80% from the free throw line.

The women played seven games during November of the 2025 season and their record is 5-2. The teams played two of those games at home, three games away and two games at a neutral site. The Irish finished undefeated at home and away, but they dropped back-to-back games during the Cayman Islands Classic.
Scoring – Women
November’s average point differential for Notre Dame women’s basketball was +23.4. Their biggest win margin was +46 against James Madison at home. Utah dealt the team their most significant loss so far with a -11 differential.

Notre Dame’s most efficient field goal shooting game was Mercyhurst season opener, when they made 60% of attempts. They only shot 34.7% and 40.3 against TCU and Utah, respectively.
Their best 3PT shooting games were against Purdue, James Madison and Lafayette, when they ranged between 41% and 45%. The women’s free throw percentage has varied a lot, between 61% (Lafayette) and 92% (Utah).
