Don’t let the Jeweled Shillelagh hit ya on the way out
It’s not just players that hit the transfer portal… staff does as well. According to multiple reports, Notre Dame football GM Chad Bowden is leaving South Bend to take over the same job in Los Angeles with he USC Trojans.
It’s official. As @mzenitz was all over, I can confirm that Chad Bowden has accepted the General Manager position for @uscfb.
He did some incredible things during his time in South Bend with the Fighting Irish and will surely have success in this role with the Trojans in Los… https://t.co/52fcCOgLqk pic.twitter.com/aO205nbX8I

By all accounts, this is a huge blow to the “Notre Dame machine” as they have done a fantastic combined effort of recruiting, retention, and portal aquisition over the years — and Chad Bowden is a big part of that.
Still… I fully believe that there are others out there that are more than capable of filling this role moving forward for Notre Dame. We will certainly keep our ears to the ground as to what might be next for Notre Dame.
This is, as you may know, a very important time for the Irish roster. Securing players for the spring and fall is the biggest priority, but there are junior days for recruiting coming up as well and the Irish are (and will always be) a program that will build with recruiting first and add pieces from the portal second.
