Notre Dame is bringing back a familiar face for the 2024 season.
According to Irish Illustrated and 247Sports, Notre Dame is expected to name Mike Denbrock its next offensive coordinator.
Denbrock coached at Notre Dame from 2010-2016 under Brian Kelly. He then left for Cincinnati in 2017 to become an offensive coordinator.
In 2022, Kelly and Denbrock reunited in Baton Rouge. LSU didn’t have the 2023 season it envisioned, but the offense was outstanding under Denbrock’s leadership.
Clearly, Denbrock’s work this season didn’t go unnoticed. Notre Dame wasn’t the only team interested in him.
Earlier this month, FootballScoop reported that Texas A&M pursued Denbrock before hiring Collin Klein.

Huge win for Marcus Freeman to bring one of the nation’s premier coordinators back to South Bend.

LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels thrived in Denbrock’s system this fall, throwing for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns. The Heisman Trophy winner also had 1,134 yards and 10 scores on the ground.
The hope for Notre Dame is that Riley Leonard can shine with Denbrock at offensive coordinator
As for LSU, it now has a huge hole to fill at offensive coordinator.
