The portal is buzzing
The transfer portal is open for multiple sports right now, and Notre Dame is involved on both ends.
FOOTBALL
It didn’t take long for former Irish safety Kennedy Urlacher to find a new home. The sophomore has decided to follow Chad Bowden to California to join the USC Trojans.

While I fully support an athlete’s choice when it comes to school destinations… this one feels kind of gross you guys.
Urlacher will have 3 years of eligibility remaining, which means he will likely end his career 1-3 in this rivalry series.
BASKETBALL
Niele Ivey and the Notre Dame women’s basketball team had a lot of work to do in the transfer portal this offseason after a large amount of attrition. On Friday, the Irish picked up guard Vanessa de Jesus from the Duke Blue Devils.
SOLID pick up for @ndwbb and @IrishCoachIvey getting Vanessa de Jesus (@1VanessaDeJesus) out of Duke. The 5’8 Guard out of Valencia, CA put up…
3.1 points
1.4 rebounds
1.8 assists
16.1 Player Efficiency Rating
106.2 Player Offensive Rating
+23.4 Net Rating

While her stat line isn’t very impressive, her leadership skills and poise are — and maybe that’s more of what Notre Dame needs out on the court alongside Hannah Hidalgo.
