Yet another blowout win, but still overreactions occur
Violence Was Definitely Chosen
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish just completely demolished the Army Black Knights on Saturday night in Yankee Stadium. Army came into the game ranked and undefeated, and no more to that. They were just another team in the way of the steamroller that the Notre Dame team has been since the NIU loss in early September. Now with the undefeated streak in Shamrock Series games continuing and a dominant performance, there were still some overreactions surrounding the game. Let’s dive in a bit.
ND vs. Army – Overreactions We Saw Online
So at what point does @CoachBiagi stop trying to let Mitch Jeter kick? He’s been horrible. #NDFootball #Irish

This is not a wild overreaction, as Mitch Jeter was/is clearly struggling. But, it is pretty apparent that Jeter is still hurt, and that groin injury is affecting all facets of his kicking. That one FG kick was not even close. Hopefully he gets the rest he needs. In all the blowouts, it’s been good not to need to rely on late kicks to decide games, but that isn’t sustainable in a playoff run. He had inclinations of being clutch as seen with kicks in the TAMU game, but he needs to get healthy and channel that energy. Kicking is cause for a concern, but we might just have to cross that bridge when we get to it, and hope that the demolishing of teams continues at least for one more game against our hated rival.

I mean the goal line stand against us was frustrating, considering how clearly fast and dynamic the running game is for the Irish. But, I do have to chuckle at the calling out of Denbrock and the offense early in a game that ends up being a 49-14 rout. It’s a justifiable frustration in the moment, but at the macro level you have to laugh at ourselves for our instant reactions like this.
It’s so weird being a Notre Dame fan this year, knowing that your team will probably make the playoffs but also being aware you have no shot at the title because Riley Leonard isn’t a legit QB.

This was an hour and a half into the game. Riley has done what he has had to do (for the most part), so I can’t really say much else about takes like this anymore except for maybe let’s adapt our thoughts and takes and take them away from ones that we had on September 18 of this year.
