Wide range of reactions still occur during a rout
Let Us Clear Our Throat
The lone night game for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in Notre Dame Stadium this season ended up not disappointing. The Irish absolutely dismantled the Florida State Seminoles 52-3 in a game that made my 9-year old self who witnessed in person the 37-0 loss in 2003 feel vindicated.
We of course will always have Irish fans with too fast of typing hands before, during, and after games to react to what they just witnesses, and this game was no exception. Let’s look at some online overreactions from the FSU game.
ND vs. FSU – Overreactions
I love Mike Denbrock but the gameplan for Florida State in the first half has been bizarre for the Notre Dame offense. Hard to make sense of what he’s trying to do.

This isn’t even that much of an overreaction, as I thought the same thing (plus, how much overreacting can we do in a 49-point win?). But, I will put it there because of the overall sentiment and the fact that we watch but aren’t coaching. Denbrock is a seasoned OC, and that is an understatement. it’s almost like he could mess around with the play calling against a bad team. Also, the game is 4 quarters long. The plays and personnel were a bit confusing, but clearly it didn’t hinder the Irish too much in the grand scheme of the whole game.
Released in 1996.
ND needs a music guy more in tune with the present day student body. https://t.co/v3Tfjxg8qP

Not much else to get mad about on Saturday, so I’m going to talk about something not the game play. I was not at the game, but seeing the fact that they brought DJ Kool to the game during “Let Me Clear My Throat” is AWESOME. That’s a homerun for the 4th quarter lights out “thing.” It seemed like the students and players absolutely loved it. Great song choice, very cool to have DJ Kool there for it, and it seemed to be a great hit for the 4th quarter night game spectacle, which has fallen flat before. I think this is awesome and definitely still something people both in the stadium and not enjoyed.
